In this chapter, you’ve learned some of the basic factors that you need to consider when creating a networked or multiuser application. You’ve learned about resource contention and ways to handle and minimize it in the Access interface and using ADO. You’ve also learned about the merits of centralized versus distributed architectures, including some of the ways that you might split your database application to improve performance. Finally, you’ve learned some techniques for improving performance in both a single-user and a multiuser environment.
