Saving Find and Replace Queries

As you can probably tell by now, it is quite easy to develop very complex queries with the new Find and Replace feature. Fortunately, FrontPage allows you to save your queries so that they can be retrieved and used later. You can also share your queries with other FrontPage users to implement in their Web sites.

FrontPage Query files are XML files that contain all the information contained in the query. To save a query, click the diskette icon in the Find and Replace dialog and enter a name for your query. Click the Save button to complete the process.

TIP

FrontPage Query files are saved by default in the C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Microsoft\FrontPage\Queries folder.


To share a query with another FrontPage 2003 user, copy the .fpq file to their computer and open it from the Find and Replace dialog by clicking the folder button next to the Query: label as seen in Figure 5.9.
