So far in this part of the book, the site has been discussed mainly as a single-developer project. This chapter addresses difficulties that can occur when many developers are working on the same site. If you are always the sole developer of your sites, most of this information doesn't apply to you. However, some of it might prove beneficial or interesting, so you should at least skim each area. Topics discussed in this chapter include the challenges you face when working in a collaborative environment, how to use Design Notes to make managing your workflow easier, implementing and using the built-in version control system in Dreamweaver MX 2004, implementing and using other version control systems, and creating and using reports about project workflow. We will also discuss using Dreamweaver with Macromedia Contribute. Contribute is an easy-to-use website editing program for entry-level users. We will discuss how to use these two programs together on one site.
