MP3Stego, or MP3Steno as it is also called, will hide information in MP3 files during the compression process. Data is first compressed, encrypted, and then data is hidden in the MP3 bitstream. Although MP3Stego has been written with steganographic applications in mind, it could also be used as a watermarking system for MP3s. An opponent could uncompress the bitstream and recompress it, deleting the hidden information, but at the expense of severe quality loss.
