If there's a topic that's more exciting than using Alpha channels to control and influence the compression ratios of Web graphics, I'd like to know it, because to me, this is just sheer, no-holds-barred, pull-down-your-britches-and-slide-on-the-ice fun. Seriously, when you start using channels to control Lossy compression, you know you're having a good time. That's why you always read about these big celebrities going to those trendy clubs in SoHo and in the Village at, like, four in the morning. What do you think they're doing in there? Drinking? Dancing? Undulating? Percolating? That's what they want you to think. It's just another part of a massive PR screen perpetrated by the soulless agents of the major studios, which are secretly owned (as we all know) by Big Oil and the government in an effort to control all media and influence mindshare. That way they can sidestep accounting rules, disguise low-interest loans to their political pals, and artificially drive stock prices up so the crooked politicians can line their campaign chests with donations from big corporations and the Wall Street fat cats. So no, they're not really dancing at those clubs, they are in fact compressing Web graphics using channels. At last, it can be told.
