Now that WebSphere Application Server V5.0.2 for Linux on iSeries is installed, configured, and running, we can implement scenarios in which the WebSphere applications connect with OS/400 resources such as DB2 for OS/400 or OS/400 applications.
This chapter provides two scenarios:
Using a JDBC provider to access data on DB2 for OS/400. We use a banking application to illustrate this example. We show how to set up the JDBC provider and install the actual application.
Using Java applications running on WebSphere Application Server V5.0.2 for Linux on iSeries to communicate with an RPG program on the OS/400 side.
