Reassigning the Schema Master

Tutorial: Transferring the Schema Master Role

1. In our newly created MMC configuration, right-click the item labeled Active Directory Schema (dc01.guinea.pig) and choose Change Domain Controller . The Change Domain Controller window appears.

2. Click the option labeled Specify Name , and enter the full domain name of DC03 and click OK :

   dc03.austin.guinea.pig

3. Right-click Active Directory Schema (dc03.austin.guinea.pig) and select Operations Master . The Change Schema Master dialog box appears. Click Change and Yes to transfer the schema master role from DC01 to DC03.
