This chapter provided a quick tour through all of the controls available in the Windows Forms 2.0 Toolbox. This tour included a description of what each control does and when you would normally use that control in a practical situation. In addition, controls that are new to Windows Forms 2.0 or have been greatly enhanced were highlighted. This chapter didn't provide you with much in the way of code samples, but it did give you an idea of the tools that you now have available at your disposal. As you progress through the rest of the Windows Forms section of this book, you will see how the various tools and techniques you encounter can be applied to the controls discussed in this chapter. As an exercise, you might want to come back to this chapter after you learn new techniques and see how those techniques can be applied to the wide variety of controls discussed here. |
