Fourteen percent (14%) of the DB2 9 Fundamentals certification exam (Exam 730) is designeds to test your knowledge of the products that make up the DB2 Family as well as your ability to identify which products must be installed to create a desired environment or configuration. This portion of the exam is also designed to test your knowledge of the various tools that are provided with DB2. The questions that make up this portion of the exam are intended to evaluate the following:
Your ability to identify the products that make up the DB2 Family
Your knowledge of the different DB2 clients available
Your knowledge of how nonrelational data is managed by the DB2 extenders
Your knowledge of the implications of storing and managing Extensible Markup Language (XML) data
Your knowledge of the features and functions available with the tools that are provided with DB2
Your knowledge of data warehousing and On-Line Transaction Processing (OLTP) concepts
This chapter is designed to introduce you to the various products that make up the DB2 Family and to the comprehensive set of tools that are provided to assist in administering and managing DB2 servers, instances, databases, and database objects.
