Reloading Recognizers and Actions Without Restarting

After installing a smart tag, the user must restart the smart tag host to use that smart tag. This is not ideal for the user experience. Also, users might not know that Outlook runs an instance of Word when they are editing e-mail, and they might not shut down Word completely. If they don't, the new smart tag won't load.

To solve this problem, we now have a ReloadAll method on the Word Application object's SmartTagTypes collection. This method reloads all smart tags in Word.
