I did warn you at the beginning of the chapter about the content contained in this chapter. Certainly, it is a lot to absorb . Nevertheless, can you imagine trying to become a serious Web/Windows .NET developer without these types of skill sets? Although there are many other types of data sources for your business applications (as discussed in Chapter 10), relational database “type applications are arguably the most popular.

In this chapter, you learned about SQL Server's main client tools: Enterprise Manager and Query Analyzer. You then explored the ADO.NET technology. You were introduced to the .NET Data Provider and Dataset managed classes.

In the next chapter, you will examine the world of XML. During that discussion, I will introduce you to the "other" data- related .NET namespace: System.XML .
