Choosing the color scheme for your Web site is an important first step in the design phase of development. Here are a couple tips to keep in mind:
Limit the number of colors used in your design. Too many colors make the design look chaotic and cluttered.
Pick two or three main colors, and then use different tints of those colors for highlights, backgrounds, etc.
If your organization has a color logo or a primary graphic for the home page, pull colors from that existing artwork, or choose colors that are complimentary.
