Preparing to Work

This project uses the BCC Sparks effect from the Boris FX Continuum Complete collection. If you don't own this effect, you can install a trial version of it from this book's DVD or download the trial from the Boris FX Web site.

You'll also need the Classic 3.0.9 version of the Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator plug-in, which is provided on its own CD with the Professional versions of either Adobe After Effects 6.5 or the Adobe Video Collection. If you have the Standard version of either product, you can install a trial version from this book's DVD or download a trial version from the Zaxwerks Web site.

To prepare for this project, do the following:

1.	Start with a new project, and save it as Ch9CorporateLogo.
2.	If you don't already have Zaxwerks' 3D Invigorator effect and Boris FX's BCC Sparks effect installed in After Effects, then install them. Once they're installed, Zaxwerks and BCC submenus appear in the Effect menu in After Effects.
3.	Create a new composition named Master Comp using the Medium, 320x240 preset; set the background color to black (RGB: 0, 0, 0) and Duration to 5:00.
