Service types are defined to allow a controller to specify different traffic management types on VSI messages, as shown in Tables A-2 through A-6. The specific service type mapping into hardware programming is left to the VSI slave and is transparent to the VSI master. The VSI master specifies a type of traffic using the service types defined.
NOTE Previously, the DiffServ Class Selectors service types were called MPLS COS. For example, the old traffic type MPLS COS 0 is now called DiffServ CS 0.
