Acknowledgments

 <  Day Day Up  >

We would like to thank every member of the Swing project. They're a great team of people who do excellent work and are fun to be around.

For this second edition, we relied on two reviewers above all others. Scott Violet, the Swing project lead, provided not only reviews of individual sections but also gave sound advice and help with overall issues. Shannon Hickey was a great help as well, advising us and reviewing how-to sections such as the technically challenging drag-and-drop section.

Philip Milne was as helpful as ever despite having moved to another company on a different continent . His contributions included providing the SpringLayout examples and reviewing changes to the table section.

Other reviewers and Swing team members that we'd like to thank include Amy Fowler, Josh Outwater, Leif Samuelsson, Mark Davidson, Igor Kushnirskiy, and Roman Poborchy. Jeff Dinkins, the manager of the Swing team, was supportive as always.

Suzie Pelouch helped us at crucial points, doing various tasks such as checking code snippets and verifying our references to API documentation.

Alan Sommerer, our manager, gave invaluable encouragement and support to the ongoing work on this book. Lisa Friendly, technical publications director and series managing editor, gave us the freedom and support necessary to do our work ”and enjoy it. Steve Uhlir, director of User Experience, and Jonathan Schwartz, executive vice president of the Software Group, also contributed to an atmosphere that facilitated everyone doing their best.

We'd also like to thank the star team at Addison-Wesley: Ann Sellers, Michael Mullen, and Julie Nahil; and our diligent and patient copyeditors/proofreaders Marilyn Rash and Dianne Wood. They have been a pleasure to work with.

Finally, thank you to our readers.
