Summary


In this chapter, we looked at making backups. First, you saw how to verify where your personal and other vital data is stored. Then we looked at how the YaST2 System Backup tool can be used to back up system configuration data. For personal data, you can use Konserve, as described in this chapter, which can arbitrarily back up files. Finally, you learned how to use tar at the command line to back up any kind of data.

In the next chapter, we'll look at how tasks can be scheduled to occur at various times under SUSE Linux.
