Thus, the text offers you a broad spectrum of knowledge of the mechanics of management science techniques and the types of problems to which these techniques are applied. However, the ultimate test of a management scientist or a manager who uses management science techniques is the ability to transfer textbook knowledge to the business world. In such instances there is an art to the application of management science, but it is an art predicated on practical experience and sound textbook knowledge.
