In this chapter we have presented an overview of nonlinear programming problems and solutions. We have used relatively simple examples because of the complexity involved in formulating and solving larger problems. A more in-depth understanding of this topic requires significant knowledge of calculus and higher mathematics. Nevertheless, this chapter has provided a general understanding of the types of problems that require nonlinear solutions and the general format for modeling nonlinear problems. It has also demonstrated the capability of Excel for solving nonlinear programming problems. |
