ZENworks Linux Management Databases

By default, ZENworks Linux Management installs PostgreSQL version 7.4.7. However, you can also use Oracle 9i. During the install, you are prompted whether you want to install the database locally (on the machine on which you are installing ZENworks Linux Management) or to a remote PostgreSQL or Oracle database.

ZENworks Linux Management also uses an object store. The ZENworks Object Store is eDirectory. It's important to understand that unlike relational databases, the ZENworks Object Store can establish interrelationships of data, such as the relationship of an application to a workstation.
