I think the site's official mission statement does a good job of summing up what eBay is all about: "eBay's mission is to help practically anyone trade practically anything on earth." eBay fulfils its mission by creating millions of online auctions, in which sellers offer merchandise to potential buyers . While eBay is billed as a person-to-person auction site, there are also a good number of businesses that use eBay to sell their merchandise to customers across the country and around the world. If you haven't used eBay yet, you're missing out on something. eBay is a terrific place to find just about anything you might want to buy ”and to sell anything you have to sell. Since this book is about the selling part of the equation, we won't focus much on bidding and buying on eBay; still, you owe it to yourself to check out everything that the eBay site has to offer.  | This chapter isn't meant to replace a full-featured tutorial for beginning users.
