Creating a Movie DVD from Video Files

If you've used Windows Movie Maker or another video editing program to create movie files on your computer's hard disk, MyDVD can combine one or more of these files into a movie DVD, complete with menus. To initiate this process, select Create or Modify a DVD Video Project on the opening screen.

This opens MyDVD's main project window, shown in Figure 35.2. To create a movie DVD, follow these steps:

1.	Click the Edit Style button to select the style of menus you want on the DVD. tip Preview your new DVD at any time by clicking the Preview button. If you want to see animated buttons in action, click the Build Motion Menu button first.
2.	Click the menu title text to add your own title to the main menu screen.
3.	Add a video file to your DVD by clicking the Get Movies button. This opens the Add Movie(s) to Menu dialog box; select the file(s) you want to add, and then click Open.
4.	The movie file you selected is now added to your project, and a button is added to the main menu. Click the filename under the button to rename the button.
5.	Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add other movie files to your project.
6.	To create a submenu under the main menu, click the Add Submenu button. This adds an "untitled menu" button to the main menu; click this text to change the name of the button.
7.	To add movies to the submenu, double-click the submenu button; this takes you to the submenu screen. Follow steps 3 and 4 to insert movie files. Double-click the Home button to return to the main menu.
8.	When you've finished building menus and adding movie files, make sure that you've saved your project; then click the Burn button.

MyDVD will now start building the new DVD. Remember, this is a long processfeel free to go out and get a pizza or something while you wait.
