In the previous chapter, we reviewed some elements of the SQL language in depth. In this chapter, we'll to use it to perform a real-world task, a simple search system (or "search engine") for the Dreamweaver Hotel site. First, we will take a look at what kind of search engine we can build with SQL and the advantages and limitations of such a system. Then we will look at how to build the user interface to the engine. This step will lead us to the last step of building a search engine: building a dynamic query that will search through the information in the database and then present the results to the user. |
