Chapter 17. Managing Configurations for Project Support Functions

Project-support or life-cycle-independent functions are operative throughout a project's lifetime. This does not have to beand rarely isidentical with the lifetime of the developed product. Often, a product will go through several projects, such as a proposal and contract project, a development project, possibly an independent test and delivery project, and an operation and maintenance project. This chapter discusses how configuration management can be performed for the objects produced in these functions. The principles apply to any type of project.
