InDesign offers keyboard shortcuts for standard editing operations such as undo and redo; Paste Into and Paste In Place operations as well as the standard Cut, Copy, and Paste operations; toggling between the Story Editor and Layout; finding text and checking spelling; and configuring InDesign.

Undo the last operation
InDesign enables you to undo multiple operations and redo the operations you ve undone.

Redo the last undone operation

Cut

Paste In Place
Use the Paste In Place command to position the item you re pasting to appear at the same page coordinates as the original item.

Toggle between the Story Editor and Layout
Select the item you want to edit, and then press this shortcut to edit it in the Story Editor. Press this shortcut again to return to Layout when you ve finished editing.

Display the Find/Change dialog box
Windows [Ctrl]-[Alt]-[F], [Shift]-[F2], Mac [ z ]-[Option]-[F], [Shift]-[F2]
Find the next instance of the current search string
Press this shortcut to find the next instance of the current search string (the last string of text you searched for) without displaying the Find/Change dialog box.
Windows [Ctrl]-[F1], Mac [ z ]-[F1]
Insert the selected text in the Find What text box
For this shortcut and the next, display the Find/Change dialog box before pressing the shortcut.
Windows [Ctrl]-[F2], Mac [ z ]-[F2]
Insert the selected text in the Change To text box
Windows [Ctrl]-[F3], Mac [ z ]-[F3]
Replace the selection with the text in the Change To text box
Windows [Ctrl]-[I], Mac [ z ]-[I]
Display the Check Spelling dialog box

Display the Preferences dialog box

Cycle through the units of measurement
If you have the rulers displayed, you ll see the units change on them.
