Summary


This chapter gives you a quick look at the traditional fixed-function rendering pipeline. If we were to examine in detail each of the DirectX classes that are used during 3D rendering, there would be enough material to span several chapters. Rather than delve into that level of detail, I will present the information as we apply it in the following chapters. The DirectX documentation as well as the Visual Studio help and code completion features are always available to fill in the details along the way.
