CONNECTING THE AUDIO SYSTEM

To connect your audio system, connect the phono jack from your speaker system to the audio out or sound out connector on your system unit. You'll also have to connect your left and right speakers together-and connect them to your subwoofer, if you have one.

Connect one end of the green phono cable to the audio out or sound out connector on your system unit.

Connect the other end of this green cable to your subwoofer or main speaker.

TIP

Your Connection Might Vary

Not all speaker systems connect the same way. Many surround systems use a separate box with various controls (like volume) that connects to both your PC and speakers. Make sure you read your manufacturer's instructions before you connect your speaker system.

Connect your left and right speakers to your subwoofer, or to each other, as per the manufacturer's instructions.

Connect the power cable on your main speaker to a power source.

NOTE

Powered Speakers

Your PC doesn't include an audio power amplifier, so your computer speakers must be self-powered. This is why they must be connected to a power source to work.

TIP

Digital Speaker Systems

Some high-end speaker systems use a digital audio connector instead of the traditional analog audio out jack. If you have a digital speaker system, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
