Troubleshooting Error Messages


This section provides information on possible causes to error messages that you may encounter when using the ARM macros. The following table lists the error messages and possible causes:

%ARMINIT: Negative app ID returned

  • Invalid appidvar variable type.

  • Error in SAS ARM environment.

%ARMGTID: Negative txn ID returned

  • Invalid appidvar or appidvar value or variable type.

  • Valid appidvar value, ARM application has been closed.

%ARMSTRT: Invalid optional data parameter(s) - check syntax.

  • Missing parentheses when correlator requested on previous %ARM call.

%ARMSTRT: Negative start handle returned

  • Invalid appidvar or appidvar value or variable type.

  • Invalid txnidvar or txnidvar value or variable type.

  • Valid appidvar value, ARM application has been closed.

%ARMUPDT: Negative rc returned

  • Invalid shdlvar or shdlvar value or variable type.

  • Valid shdlvar value, transaction has already stopped .

%ARMSTOP: Negative rc returned

  • Invalid shdlvar or shdlvar value or variable type.

  • Valid shdlvar value, transaction has already stopped.

%ARMEND: Negative rc returned

  • Invalid appidvar or appidvar value or variable type.

  • Valid appidvar value, ARM application has been closed.
