Summary

Several tools can make radical changes to the appearance of a Windows display, and extend the image to more than one screen. Themes, visual styles, and skins are all methods for altering every possible element of the Windows user interface.

Adding a second monitor to a computer is an inexpensive way to make the computer more flexible and easier to use. The Settings tab in the Display Properties window provides basic controls for multiple monitor operation; other programs, including MaxiVista and the programs supplied with many graphics controller cards, can also enhance multiple monitor operation. The third-party UltraMon program adds many more useful features and options.
