At the time of this writing, there are a number of directory server implementations. Please note that the following list is not exhaustive and that there may well be implementations I am not aware of. The fact that I am ignorant of a particular implementation does not imply anything about its quality. Note also that this section does not contain any comments. Many products have been developed during the writing of this book, and the list is constantly changing.
Star Alliance: This is a collaboration between Sun Microsystems and Netscape Corporation. The product offered is the Sun One server. The previous products were called i-Planet directory server and Netscape directory server.
