Q&A

Q1:

I want two blocks of text on the same line ”one on the left margin and one near the right. How do I do that?

A1:

Type the phrase on the left margin, and then add a custom right tab at the right margin. You can place it directly on top of the right indent marker. Press the Tab key to move out to the right tab, and type the text that you want flush against the right margin. (If you like, you can experiment with adding these tabs using the Click-and-Type feature, which was discussed in Hour 2, "Entering Text and Moving Around.")

Q2:

I notice there is a Border button in the Formatting toolbar as well as the Tables and Borders toolbar. Are they different?

A2:

No. They work in exactly the same way, so you can use either one.

Q3:

When I cut and pasted a paragraph, it lost all of its paragraph formatting. Why did that happen?

A3:

You didn't include the paragraph mark at the end of the last sentence when you selected the paragraph before cutting it. Remember that all of the paragraph formatting is stored in the paragraph mark, so if you leave it behind when you cut and paste the paragraph, you'll leave behind the paragraph formatting as well.
