The first topic you studied today was the concept of bean-managed persistence for entity beans. You then moved on to understanding the components of an entity bean that uses BMP and the main class that needs to be modified the entity bean implementation class. You built the ItemBean entity bean from yesterday's chapter using BMP to understand and contrast BMP and CMP. After this, you had a brief look at a new persistence specification introduced by Sun the Java Data Objects specification. You learned the concepts of JDO and the development life cycle of a JDO application. In addition, you also learned about the solution space that JDO occupies in the context of EJB. Next, you studied the EJB to JSP integration tool provided by WebLogic Server. This tool enables developers to quickly and easily embed beans in a JSP without having to include the context and naming service accessing code in JavaServer Pages. Finally, you built the last building block of the Airline Ticket Booking System MVC application the entity beans to access data from the database tables of the application. |
