editor

In Logic, one of a multitude of editors to help you compose music. All of them alter the raw input in some way. The primary MIDI editors in Logic are the Hyper Editor and the Event List, and the Matrix, Sample, and Score Editors. You can edit Audio Regions in the Arrange window, Audio window, and Sample Editor.



Edit Decision List (EDL)

A list of edits and timing references for a video or film sequence.



Environment

A section of Logic that graphically reflects the relationship between hardware devices outside your computer and virtual devices within your computer.



Environment layer

A place to organize the Objects in the Environment for easy access. As a general rule, Objects of the same type are usually placed on the same layer.



Eraser tool

A tool for deleting items. When you click a selected item, all other currently selected items are also deleted.



event

A MIDI message. The main events in Logic are note, control-change, pitch bend, aftertouch, and SysEx events. MIDI events can be edited in a number of ways.



Event List

A list of events and Objects that gives you access to all recorded event data. Thus, you can directly manipulate events and Objects and make precise alterations.



Extensible Markup Language (XML)

A format used to store document information. XML information can be exchanged among supporting applications.
