Moving or Copying Text

To move or copy text, use a combination of the CUT and PASTE functions. There is no separate COPY function, but the same result can be achieved by using CUT, followed by an immediate PASTE and then a second PASTE at the appropriate target location.

To copy text into the paste buffer, position your cursor at the first (or last) character you'd like to remove. Press SELECT (either the SELECT key or KP-DOT). This places an anchor at the current location. Now move your cursor to the other end of the text you'd like to move or copy. Intervening text will be shown in reverse video, highlighting the text you've selected. Press CUT (KP-6) to remove your text. To cancel a select range without removing any text, press RESET (PF1,KP-DOT).

If you are copying text, not moving it, immediately press PASTE (PF1,KP-6). This restores the text to its original location, but leaves a copy in the in-memory paste buffer.

Now move the cursor to the place you'd like to insert the text. Use PASTE (PF1,KP-6) to insert the text at that point.
