In this Chapter, you learned how to package and deliver streaming media on your network. Packaging streaming media involves using third-party software, such as Windows Media Technologies, Apple, or RealNetworks, to insert your streaming flows into container files. Users can request streaming content either live or on-demand. You can deliver the streaming content using RTP-UDP streams. To provide granular control over the streams, your users can use RTSP controls to initiate, pause, fast-forward, and rewind the streams. The streams can be multicast to a large audience to scale the application in your network. You also can apply QoS in your network to ensure high quality picture and audio of the streaming content. |
