Doing the Lessons

 < Day Day Up >

The lessons are combined into two large projects. You can do them successively to create your own variant of each project. If this is not interesting to you, the necessary information for each lesson is provided on the CD-ROM (projects, textures, etc.). The finished variant for each lesson also is on the CD-ROM, and you can always compare your results with ours.

Apart from these lessons, we thought it appropriate to offer several additional exercises, combined in the Additional Lessons section mentioned above. Their levels are different, but we think that both beginners and advanced users of 3ds max will find them interesting.

The lessons in this book do not follow the "from simple to difficult" principle. They are equivalent and rather complicated, so you can do them in any order. However, if you are a beginner, we recommend that you complete them sequentially. Some details are explained thoroughly in the first lessons that you will need to know for subsequent lessons. From one lesson to another, your attention will be less focused on how to do something than on what will have to be done.

Finally, we completed all the lessons ourselves in the course of writing this book. Therefore, in some cases, the solution to a problem may not seem optimal. Moreover, errors and inaccuracies are possible. If you think you can do better, you are welcome to try. Don't be afraid of experimenting, for no book can teach you anything unless you persistently delve into various aspects of the package.
