The Sample Code

Throughout this book, the Island Hopper sample application will be used to illustrate concepts and techniques. Island Hopper was developed by the Microsoft COM and Visual Studio teams to illustrate good design, development, and deployment techniques for three-tier applications. You might find more recent versions of Island Hopper on the Microsoft Web site, but the version of Island Hopper used here is included on the companion CD; instructions for configuring machines to run or build this version of Island Hopper are also provided.
