If you are old enough to remember record players, then you should be familiar with the concept of a loop. When you had a record with a scratch on it, the same piece of music would play over and over. That's similar to the concept of a loop, which is any piece of music that plays repeatedly. Loops can be great for creating background tracks or experimenting with samples. Some of the editing features you have already seen in this chapter can be used to make loops, such as pasting and duplicating phrases. Digital Performer also offers several other ways to create loops.
Using the Set Loop function, you can choose how many times you want the selection to loop.
Using the Repeat function, you can repeat a selection by using one of three methods .
