Chapter 4.   The ADO .NET Class Library

We've taken the quick tour of the ADO .NET classes. This chapter was intended to give you an overview of what to expect in the next chapters, where we'll dive in and crunch through all the properties, methods , and some of the more obscure classes. We deliberately left out too many programming examples in this chapter. We intended it to be a quick read-through so you would be familiar with where we are headed. This is like studying a road map prior to taking a trip, so you have a rough idea of what to expect. Now we are ready to begin the trip. First stop: the Connection class.
