To copy or move data statically from one Office application to another, as described in the previous section, do the following:
- Select the data in the source program, and choose Cut or Copy from the program's Edit menu.
- Switch to the receiving program and place the insertion point at the position in the receiving document where you want to insert the data.
- Choose Paste Special from the receiving program's Edit menu to open the Paste Special dialog box. Proceed as shown in Figure 35-1.

The formats listed in the As list in the Paste Special dialog box depend on the source program and the nature of the data.
