Assembling the Background Sequence

You'll start this project by building the sequence of still images that plays in the background during the second half of the animation. The Sequence Layers command enables you to quickly lay out the images in time and create transitions between them. Then you can use the Hue/Saturation effect to reduce the images' colors to a single hue. Follow these steps:

1.	Go to time 5;00, and place all the JPEG files (Img_0112) from the Stills folder into the Master Timeline.
2.	Select all the layers in the Timeline, go to time 7;00, and then press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) and the ] key to trim the layers' Out points to the current time. Trimming the layers' duration
3.	With all the layers still selected, choose Animation > Keyframe Assistant > Sequence Layers. Select the Overlap option, set Duration to 1;00, set Transition to Dissolve Front Layer, and then click OK. These options automatically spread the layers out over time and add Opacity keyframes to fade the layers from one to the other. The Timeline after you apply the Sequence Layers command
4.	With all the layers still selected, choose Layer > Pre-Compose to combine the layers into a single composition nested in the Master composition. Name the new composition Background.
5.	Go to time 5;00, and press Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) and the [ key to trim the layer's In point to the current time. Trimming the Background layer's In point
6.	Apply Effect > Adjust > Hue/Saturation to the Background layer. Turn on the effect's Colorize option (under the Master Lightness option), and set Colorize Hue to 0 x +220.0 and Colorize Saturation to 55. Now every image that makes up the Background layer appears in blue hues. Settings for the Hue/Saturation effect The effect's Colorize option gives the entire sequence a uniform hue.

If you preview the Master composition, you should briefly see one JPEG image at a time. Each image fades out as a different JPEG image fades in.
