Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

”Genesis 11:7

This chapter presents a basic introduction to XSLT and XPath. It is primarily intended to provide end users with a practical tutorial on the XSLT and XPath features most applicable to electronic commerce and EAI applications. It may also give application developers a realistic understanding of XSLT and the role it can play in application architectures.

In this chapter we change our focus from the relatively detailed, developer-oriented concerns of the previous four chapters to more user -oriented issues. While the chapter retains a technical focus, it is at a lighter, introductory level.
