In today's hustle and bustle world, instant communication is almost a given. Gone are the days when a person would write a letter, mail it, and then wait days and even weeks for an answer. Now, when you need to share some important information and get an answer right away, you can exchange emails . To send and receive emails, you need an Internet connection and an email program such as Mozilla's Thunderbird.

An email message can contain more than text. You can attach images and other files to the message to send them along to a co-worker or friend. To send an email to someone, you'll need their email address, such as best.friend@faraway.net.
