SOURCES FOR FORM SCRIPTS

You can create your own customized scripts to handle the data submitted to your web server by the user. You need to learn how to program using a programming language such as C++, Java, or Perl. The most popular scripts are written using Perl. Scripts written for the purposes of handling form data are called CGI scripts. You can learn everything you ever want to know about CGI scripts at http://www.cgi101.com. You can even download predefined CGI scripts that you can use on your site with a few small modifications to the script.

Before you spend a ton of time learning to program in a programming language, explore the existing scripts available to you. Your server administrator or Internet service provider is an excellent resource for this kind of information. Chances are they already have a script that you can use or will be willing to write a script for you.
