The Code So Far

[Previous] [Next]

At this point, you should compile the code for this chapter and select Alpha Transparency from the Textures menu. Now go inside one of the buildings and look out the windows. You can see through the windows because of the alpha values associated with the textures used on the vehicle. The windows are slightly translucent, so if you look closely you'll see that they slightly gray the scene you're looking at outside the window.

To see how the windows look without transparency enabled, select Alpha Transparency from the Textures menu to toggle transparency to an off state. You'll no longer be able to see out the windows.

Figures 10-3 and 10-4 show screen shots of the scene looking out a window of a building along the main street of the RoadRage world.
