This chapter covered all the aspects of DirectPlay needed to completely support multiplayer gaming using any of the available connection approaches (modem, network, and so on). With this code integrated into your application, you're guaranteed to catapult players to the next level of gaming excitement.

You can use the code presented in this chapter for any game you create. All you need to do to make the code work with your applications is define the messages that you want to pass between players. These messages can include those that broadcast when a player is moving, when a player's hit points change, and when a player fires a weapon and the projectile hits an object. With a little imagination, I'm certain you'll find a great deal of ways to use the message-passing abilities of DirectPlay!
