Calc Setup Options

Calc lets you control hundreds of optionsprobably more than you will ever need to control. Choose Tools > Options > Spreadsheet to view the Calc options.

We don't go through each window of options one by one, for the following reasons:

• The important settings are covered in procedures throughout the book.

• Many are self-explanatory.

• The default settings for these options are generally well chosen .

However, the options aren't in an obvious place in any of the menu bars or object barsyou need to choose Tools > Options > Spreadsheetso we've pointed them out here to make sure you're aware of them (see Figure 18-10). It's also helpful to know what types of functions these options do control, so if you want to know that before you start using this program, open the options now to get an idea of their scope before continuing.

The options are default values used for each new Calc spreadsheet.
