In this chapter, you learned how to use Struts in your Spring application. You now know how to get the beans in the Struts actions programmatically and, more importantly, you know how to configure your Struts actions as regular Spring beans, which allows you to take advantage of the full feature set of the Spring framework. You also learned how to combine Struts actions and Spring controllers, which means you can create a quick interim solution while migrating an existing Struts application to Spring.
Unfortunately, we did not offer a full description of the Struts framework in this chapter; if you want to find out more, take a look at the excellent second edition of Pro Jakarta Struts by John Carnell and Rob Harrop (Apress, 2004).
