How Usenet Works

Usenet is a global bulletin board and discussion area. It collects messages about many thousands of topics into newsgroups, which are freewheeling discussion areas in which anyone can participate. Newsgroups can be found on many host computers across the Internet. Thousands of newsgroups exist that cover just about every topic you've ever imagined and many you probably haven't thought of.
