Add/Remove Features

Whether Windows XP came pre-installed on your PC or you installed it yourself, there are features that may not be installed. Windows calls these extra features components.

There may also be components installed that you aren't using. For instance, if you don't subscribe to Microsoft's MSN Internet services, then you don't need MSN Explorer.

You can easily add new components or remove components you aren't using.

Go to the Start menu and choose Control Panel.

Wait while Windows does the installation (or the removal), and then click Finish. If you are installing a component, Windows may ask you to insert your Windows XP CD depending on how your computer is set up and what you are installing.
