Finding Variations in a Name

You can also look for variations in a name. For example, some of these workshops are Satsang, but the name of the class isn't always consistently an uppercase S. You want to make the format consistent and change it to Satsang.

1.

In the workshops.html document, switch back to Design view, place the insertion point at the top of the document, and choose Edit > Find and Replace. Set the Find In menu selection to Current Document and the Search menu selection to Text. Type [sS]?atsang, [kK]?irtan in the Find text field.

The [sS] searches for any word that begins with a lower or capital S; the ? specifies only one character; and the atsang, is the literal string. The same pattern is used for the Kirtan string.

2.

In Options, make sure that Match case is checked. The Use regular expression box should also be checked.

3.

In the Replace text field, type Satsang, Kirtan. Place the insertion point at the beginning of the text in the Document window. Click the Find Next button to find the first occurrence of a variation of Satsang, kirtan and then click Replace to change it.

The first version of the Satsang, kirtan is found in this document and replaced with Satsang, Kirtan.

4.

Click the Find Next button. Continue to replace all the remaining versions of the Satsang, kirtan. Save the workshops.html document.

You can close this document and the Results panel.
